Saw this coming a few weeks ago when they announced the legal GPT model. The general purpose #ChatGPT LLM will become the bog standard and crippled version eventually, available to all (hence the push to distribute into iOS and Android).
You'll then subscribe to various smaller models for specific tasks as add-ons. No different to paying for video on demand or music.
This'll also affect the API costs.

Because, like goons, we've paid money to train the system and given them all the data they need to understand which add-on services people will use the most.
